Jan Ryder writes about murder, mystery, and crime.
During her school years she studied the classics, literature and poetry, but at home she devoured her brother’s cowboy adventures, Second World War novels, espionage tales, thrillers, and true-life survival epics. These books and many more since have influenced her writing.
Her working career in that twilight zone known as Business Administration took her through all the big city industries and corporations: oil, banking, law and national government. For years, as an antidote to her steady, unimaginative working life she composed thrilling stories in her head. When she finally escaped from work and the city she was able, at last, to sit down and write.
She lives with her husband in rural Wiltshire, England, where people make time to talk, and always have a story to tell.
